Regional Labour Force
Development Strategy

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The communities forming South Georgian Bay (Town of Collingwood, The Blue Mountains, Town of Wasaga Beach and Clearview Township) are completing a Regional Labour Force Development Strategy. With funding from the the Simcoe Muskoka Workforce Development Board, this strategy aims to provide a clear picture of employment in the region, assist with retention and attraction of new businesses in South Georgian Bay, and provide valuable information for the South Georgian Bay Campus of Georgian College located in Collingwood to take into consideration as they plan programming for 2012 and beyond.

A crucial piece of the strategy is an Employer Survey prepared by the project lead Tom Zizys. All employers in the region are being asked to respond.

The goal is to complete the information gathering by July 18th. We encourage every business owner with employees to take time to complete this important survey. Our workforce matters and we are committed to supporting the employers and employees of South Georgian Bay that are so vital to the economic success of the region.
