Overall Findings

COMPANY INFORMATION

Of the Collingwood knowledge base businesses interviewed, 60% identified Collingwood as being as the company headquarters. Additionally, 36% state they have other facilities located in other parts of Ontario. The remaining 4% are headquartered outside of the Ontario, but within Canada. Of those responding, 54% operate as corporations, 12% as partnerships and 23% are sole ownerships. Of the remaining 11 percent, 8% report operating as registered not for profit agencies.

Of the businesses interviewed, more than 60% have been in operation from 11 to 35 years. More than 61% of the business owners are residents of Collingwood, and overall, 83% of the owners are involved in the day to day operation of their company.

None of the knowledge base respondents are associated with unions.
